Morales and Francis are both left handed, so I checked to see how Utley has fared against lefties this year... he batted .318.

Something is wrong here.

Jimmy w a 2 out 2 run triple...

God these two guys are having an MVP battle...gotta love it

The Reverend said...

it was even dramatic watching chut's fly ball sail to the warning track and turn into an X on gamecast.

BobKooler said...

People that live in the Philly area have GOT To listen to whatever station Harry Calas is doing these games...the guy is absolutely disgraceful...I know he is a TV primary but..fuck...he is AWFUL

The Reverend said...

kamine how is it that you can read and write on this but you can't get play by play updates on this game? i really don't think this blog should be a place for play by play... amy nelson could even do that... this is a forum for discussion of what is happening.

Reggie said...

The thing that is really interesting is that Kamine works for his dad and there has got to be a television around there somewhere or if not, there is no way he could get in trouble for following the game on gamecast

sorry to disappoint but no tv around here its an office building just like any other. and my computer won't load game tracker so all i see is the score so i was seeing if there was anything interesting w/ the score (i.e a homerun) which there was apparently

Kamine said...

revelle last night we did give jimmy play by play when he wasn't able to see the late game...so i was just asking but i do understand where youre coming from it will take away from the actual meaning of this blog which is to talk about sports and not announce them

BobKooler said...

Calas has officially gone somewhere else...I havent heard him for over two innings...Like does he just leave? Is he napping?

Like I dont get it.

BobKooler said...

Interesting point the radio guys just brought up...

Maybe the Rockies home and away splits are so gigantic because they are in the West and they visit, San Diego, San Fran and LA a lot...all are pitchers parks...

Reggie said...

I actually remember Raible or Fugett telling me that Calas switches from radio to tv every other inning. Even though he is not announcing on tv, maybe he is taking every other inning off

Reggie said...

why panic and take kendricks out there?

The Reverend said...

WOW, the nip off laLOSCH.

BobKooler said...

Wow, KAZMAT Grand Salami...

Do we like this move? I don't. Charlie just brought in a starter in the top of the 4th when he was starting the bottom half of the inning with number six...so one baserunner and you are getting one inning out of ur long man...

And..I know I was only listening, but it didnt sound like Kendrick was getting crushed or was that bad...I mean I know the early hook is seen a lot in the NL Playoffs but wow...

I dunno...

BobKooler said...

The Bank sounds totally shell shocked...similar to the last seven games at Shea.

The Reverend said...

good question by the way reg... the 4 batters leading up the kendrink getting pulled were a fly out to left, a pop out to first, an intentional walk, and an infield single... not exactly alarming.

Reggie said...

I know, and to let Bob know, as Revelle said, he really wasn't getting hit around that bad, I'm sitting here watching the game since school gets out early and I don't see what the panic is......the same goes for the Rockies who pulled their starter too....I feel we have to treat these games like regular season games a little bit more and leave the starter in there.......how many times has the bullpen lost games this year for different teams......why don't we just ask the Mets?

Reggie said...

Also the pitch was supposed to be up and in, and it was left belt high middle in.......again the up and in fastball is the most dangerous pitch in the game because when you miss you are fucked......hopefully joe kinney realizes this eventually

Reggie said...

prime example with the bullpen is last night with the cubs, dbacks game......pinella pulls out one of the best starters in the game with the game tied 1-1 and the bullpen gives up a homerun and the cubs lose.....let's leave the starters in please, you have to win today, don't worry about tomorrow

BobKooler said...

It's like...
Playoffs = micro manage every single situation...2 examples in this game...Lou Pinella last nite pulling Zambrano like a fucking idiot...

And I am sure we will see much more of this...

Can u imagine the shitty ratings a possible Rockies/DBacks series would get...Let's Tim Donaughy this and get at least one of these two original teams in the LCS (I dont care but those ratings would be terrible!)

The Reverend said...

another good point reg...papelbon loves to gamble with that pitch against lefties the little bit i've seen of him this year. one image i have burned in my mind is the 3 run beezo he gave up in toronto a few weeks ago on that exact pitch... hopefully victor martinez is reading this so he can take advantage in the ALCS if you catch my drift.

BobKooler said...

Fuck u reggie...fuck u...I am milliseconds behind

The Reverend said...

i think clint hurdle pulling morales might end up being the dumber move... the phils are obviously struggling a bit against lefties... this allows rollins to hit from his stronger side and utley and howard to potentially break out of their apocolyptic slumps... i mean i would put ANY lefty put there before inserting the medicore right handed josh fogg... watch the top of the phillies lineup get them back in this game... clint hurdle has donaghy written all over him with that move.

Reggie said...

case and point utley gets his first hit of the series against a righthander in his first ab

BobKooler said...

Reginald, Maddog is straight up yelling at Pinella...like he is actually listening to him right now...

He keeps calling him Louie...its priceless

"Louie, whatya doin there Lou, Louie, worry about tommorow. Come-on Lou, uve been there before Louie!"

BobKooler said...

Mike just joined in, "Lou, Louie, come back to us here...what are ya thinkin."

Reggie said...

Its amazing how great Maddog is. I thought about it the other day what would we do when Mike and the Dog are gone because there will be that day and I just can't imagine. Who will replace them? Evan Roberts (who works with Beningo from 10-1) he just won't be the same

BobKooler said...

Jose Mesa!! Holy Smokes!

The Colorado Rockies

Kamine said...

mesa's doing well....walks will kill you every time

Kamine said...

bring in the six fingered alfonseca...come on charlie do it....do it!!!

BobKooler said...

Drex, I dunno if you were checkin the site when I posted this, but if u go to WFAN.com and look at personalities and check out Evan Roberts, he looks like Losch, just like better.

BobKooler said...

Alfonseca and Jose Mesa, Adam AssEaton could have done better than that.

Goin early to the Penn. That kills u everytime.

Kamine said...

revelle instead of brad hawpe that chick should have picked kaz matsui for MVP of the world series...have a series so far

Kamine said...

btw that k zone has to be the worst on tv...just brutal looking and seems to be way off everytime they show it

The Reverend said...

gay ass steve phillips provided this brilliant analysis on espn radio while i was driving home:

"well i don't know much about brad hawpe but it says here he has 116 rbi."

i hate that guy.

at some point in time that exact thought must have crossed amy nelson's mind.
