Quick Series Picks (no lines, just winners)

This is a quick series pick, not backed with a whole lot of reasoning why Im going in these specific directions but Im going out of my mind waiting for the first pitch so I cant process a lot right now.

Cubs vs DBacks
Two scenarios:
1.) Zambrano and the Cubbies win tonight and I think they will sweep the series. The DBacks do have the best batting average against lefties in the NL(Lilly and Dick Hill games two and chree), but they will be completely shell shocked if Brandon Webb loses and the next two(really three) pitchers for the DBacks are donkey central. They dont even have Webb going game 4!!! which leads me to my next point......
2.) Webb wins tonight, Cubs in 4. If, in fact, they go against their original inclination to send Webb out 1 and 5 and decide to pitch him game 4 then it could possibly go all five. I still dont see this series going more than 4 games, I dont know why, I just dont think this DBack team is that good despite having the best record in the NL. There are only a few guys in the NL I can have confidence with going into a game against Brandon Webb and Z is one of them.

Final Prediction: Cubs in 3/4

Rockies vs Phillies
Call me biased, call me a homer, call me Da Govna, I dont care. The Phils have a better ballclub in my mind and the Rockies best pitcher (Jeff Francis going tonight against Cole) has gotten crushed by the Phils. They might lose that first one out in Colorado but I dont think they are going to lose at home, place has been off the chain.

Just remember, Cole Hamels isnt really left handed, hes just bored.

Final Prediction: Fightins in 4

Angels vs Red Sox
Not having Gary Matthews Jr is going to hurt them defensively and offensively, more than you think Jimmy. They cant hit with the Red Sox. They have great speed, make the plays, and are very tough at home, but I just think this Red Sox team has too much. Manny is back and hit like .900 in his few games in the lineup. Dont let Vlad beat you, and you win the series. They have good starting pitching and the best closer in baseball. Okajima has been rested the last few weeks of the season so he should be fresh as well. Beckett will out-dual Lackey tonight and win like a 2-1/3-2/4-2 type of game where Pap is asked to get between 4 and 6 outs.

Final Prediction: Sox in 4

Yanks vs Indians
An absolute toss up. Im really torn on which way to go here. If the Yanks win tonight that could change a lot, but Im feeling like there is no way they can win game 3 so even if the Tribe split these first two they are in good shape. I mean, Mike Mussina or a healthy, let alone unhealthy, Roger Clemens doesnt impose any fear in me. I think the Tribe win games 1, 3, 5. Gonna be a great series.

Final Prediction: Tribe in 5

First round should be very, very exciting. A lot of offense in the NL, and a whole lot of good pitching matchups in the AL to go along with good offenses.
